All Blacked Up are:

Nick Beck: drums & percussion, Ray Archer: bass guitars, Lisa McDermott: melodeons,

Alistair Gillies: saxophones & whistles, Bill Caddick: guitars & singing, Baz Parkes: melodeons, harmonicas & caller.

All Blacked Up are based in Shropshire...
...well, sort of. The band originated in Broseley, near Ironbridge, evolving from musicians for the Iron Men & Severn Gilders morris sides. House moves and personnel changes now see three of the band in Shropshire, two in Cheshire, and one sandwiched between in Staffordshire.

We’re willing to travel...

The band has played at festivals all over the country - from Sidmouth to Shrewsbury, and Middlewich to Whitby. We’re a regular at clubs on the ceilidh circuit and have performed at many a morris bash! See here to see where you can dance to us next...

We have our own resident caller...

Baz Parkes has gained a national reputation for his entertaining style. These days he’s in demand calling with other top bands too. All Blacked Up are also happy to work with other callers (Dave Hunt, Martyn Harvey, Hugh Rippon, Nick Walden, Colin Higgs... to name but a few.)
